The definitions we learned today were as follows:

1. Figurative Language—language that is used to express or compare things in creative

and unique ways. Comparisons and expressions aren’t meant to be taken literally.

2. Simile—a comparison of unlike things using like or as.

3. Metaphor—comparisons of unlike things that do not use like or as.
