Homework: Tuesday, February 9th SIMILE and METAPHOR Worksheet

Today we practiced Simile's and Metaphors. You can get the worksheet we did on the 'WORKSHEET AND DISCUSSION SITE' found on the left hand side of the web-page.

The definitions we learned today were as follows:

  1. Figurative Language—language that is used to express or compare things in creative

and unique ways. Comparisons and expressions aren’t meant to be taken literally.

  1. Simile—a comparison of unlike things using like or as.

  1. Metaphor—comparisons of unlike things that do not use like or as.
